1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 S Code

HIGHLIGHTS: – Genuine Mach 1 Mustang – Factory S Code car – Factory Black on black colour combo – Factory 390ci big block V8 engine – C6 Automatic transmission – Air conditioning and power steering – 15” American Racing wheels – Marti report to confirm factory specification

This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a well optioned car from the factory and has been through a complete restoration. The car started life in the San Jose plant in California rolling off the production line in March 1969. The car was sent to John E Noyes Ford in San Gabriel California where it was sold new on the 14th of April, 1969. According to its Marti report, the car left the factory as a genuine Mach 1 finished in code A5 Raven Black paintwork with code 3AA Black knit vinyl seats and fitted with an S code 390ci 4V V8 engine and U code C6 automatic transmission. The car was optioned with power front disc brakes, power steering, SelectAire air conditioning, AM Radio, tinted glass and Deluxe belts/warning lights.

The car made its way to Australia back in 1994. The car was purchase by the current owner off a good friend who had owner it for around seven years. The car underwent a full restoration over two years with Bridgens Restorations in Lawnton, QLD through 2020 and 2021. The body of the car was stripped down and found to be rust free before being fully repainted in its original colour of Raven black during the resto in 2021. The Mach 1 Decals were left off the car for a cleaner look however could easily be purchased and reapplied if you prefer them. The chrome and bright work on the car was all either refinished or replaced. The look externally is completed with a set of 15” American Racing VN500 wheels.

Inside the car has also been done back to a factory look in its original black colour. The carpet on the floor has been replaced as has the head liner up top. The seats have been refinished in the factory knit vinyl pattern with signature Mach 1 red stripe in the front buckets. The Mach 1 wood grain trim is in good condition and the glove box is signed by Allan Moffat who apparently took the car for a parade lap at Bathurst back in 2001. There is an old school aftermarket head unit in the dash with two speakers in the parcel shelf.

Open the bonnet and you will find a nicely detailed engine bay in a factory style presentation. Sitting in the middle is the fully rebuilt, 390ci 4V S code V8 engine. The engine was rebuilt during the restoration and fitted with a Holley carburettor for better reliability. The engine is paired to the factory C6 automatic transmission. The brakes and suspension are both power assisted factory items.

This is a fantastic example of a rare, fully restored, iconic American muscle car. Many people associate these 69s with the John Wick movies and this one certainly gives off the same vibes. Being a genuine Mach 1, with factory 390 S Code engine and factory finished in black on black with great options, its about as desirable as they come. Be sure to register and bid if you want to see this one parked in your garage!
