This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has been neatly restored and upgraded into a tough muscle car. The car was build at Ford’s Metuchen Factory in New Jersey in November of 1968 before being sold new through Geo M Yocum Ford in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. As per its build specs, the car was a factory Mach 1 Mustang presented in Candy Apple Red with black out hood, black vinyl interior, 351ci V8 engine, four speed top loader, 3.25 traction lock differential and optional power disc brakes.

The body of the car has been completely refinished but is true to its factory specs having been repainted in Candy Apple Red with black out bonnet. Being a Mach 1 it has bonnet pins, hood scoop, colour coded mirrors, front and rear spoiler as well as rear louvers. The front and rear bumpers have both been refinished and the car sits low over a set of torque thrust style aftermarket 17” wheels.

Inside the car has also been refinished in a factory style black knit vinyl. The dash has been retrofitted with Dakota digital gauges to give a much more accurate reading of what’s happening under the hood. The factory style wood applique presents well all round and the signature red Mach 1 floor inserts are in place. Sticking its head up from the centre console is a Hurst shifter for the four speed transmission. While the original style head unit remains in the dash there is a secret hidden radio for tunes while cruising.

Under the bonnet is the original, matching numbers 351ci V8 engine that has been fully rebuilt and upgraded to a 408ci stroker by SMS performance in 2018. The engine build features a Scat Comp 9000 series 408 stroker crank, Scat H-beams rods, SRP forged flat top pistons, 10:1 comp, True roller timing chain set, Clevite bearings, Howards hydraulic roller cam, high volume winged sump, high volume oil pump, Brodix ST-1 Heads with large stainless valve, hardened seats, raised exhaust ports and screw in studs and guide plates. Ignition is provided by an MSD pro billet curved distributor with MSD 6AL control unit. The intake is a Edelbrock Super Victor with a 800cfm Holley double pumper carb up top. The engine is fully balanced internally with an estimated output in excess of 500hp at the fly.

The engine is paired to a four-speed Top Loader manual transmission which was fully rebuilt in 2016. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a nine inch diff with Strange limited slip centre and forged axles. The brakes have been completely upgraded to Wilwood items with six piston calipers up front and four piston calipers in the rear. Exhaust gasses are expelled by a set of long tube headers into a custom dual exhaust with X pipe. The underside of the car, other than being completely painted in body colour, has been stiffened up using sub frame connectors. The suspension has been lowered approximately 1 inch all round using aftermarket springs and small blocks in the rear.

This Mustang has been extensively restored and fitted with a bunch of awesome upgrades! The car comes complete with a Marti report and documentation file containing numerous receipts, history as well as engineering paperwork for NSW registration.  Be sure to register and bid if you can see this bad boy parked in your garage.
