This 1968 Holden HK Belmont ute has been through a full ground up restoration completed in June, 2018. The previous owner claimed that the ute was ordered from new with the Premier front end, wheel spats and windscreen visor however there is no way to verify this is how it was delivered.
The body of the car was completely stripped back to bare metal with any necessary repairs completed. Once the body was like new again, it was fully repainted in its very rare original colour of Woodsman Green. The chrome and trim on the outside of the car was also either refurbished or replaced at the same time. The accessory sun visor, mudflaps and wheel spats were refitted to the car and the bed is covered with a new tonneau cover. The look externally is completed with a set of original style wheels with factory hubcaps and white wall tyres.
The inside of the car was retrimmed to original spec using NOS Julip Green trim. The dash in the car is an original HK GTS item which has been fully reconditioned with all new chrome highlights. There are all new carpets on the floor and a venetian blind in the rear window. In the back of the ute, there is brand new timber and paintwork that presents like its never seen a day of work in its entire life.
Under the bonnet live a stock Monaro 186ci 6 cyl engine that has been fully reconditioned less than 2,000 kms ago. The engine bay is extremely well presented in a factory style. The engine is paired to the factory, three speed column shift manual transmission which was also recently rebuilt with a new clutch. The original diff remains in place and has also been fully reconditioned.
The restoration of the car is a very high quality with the previous owner telling us he spent in excess of $40,000 on the paint and body alone. The ute is currently with its third owner from new with the second owner performing the restoration work.
