1968 Ford Falcon XT GT Sedan

This 1968 Ford Falcon XT is a neatly restored Aussie muscle car icon. The GT Falcon is arguably the most iconic of Aussie muscle cars and this XT GT is a neatly restored example. The car came off the line at the Broadmeadows Ford plant before heading off to Hunt Bros Ford in Paramatta, NSW where it was sold new. The car is one of only 397 XT GT’s to be delivered in GT Gold and 1 of 1 in its full factory specification.
The body of the car presents well having been refinished in its original colour of GT Gold. The paintwork is in good condition with the only notable imperfection being on the drivers side of the bonnet. The chrome work and trim have all been either refinished or replaced. To complete the look, the car sits over a set of original steel wheels with factory style chrome hubcaps and red striped tyres.
The interior has been refinished back to factory in the original black vinyl. The original GT style steering wheel remains in place as does the GT dash. The front bucket seats are split by the floor mounted manual shifter. The boot retains a factory presentation with original style boot mat.
Under the bonnet lives a period correct 302ci Windsor V8 engine. The engine is stamped with the number to match the tower however we don’t believe the stamping to be original. The engine bay was recently given a freshen up and presents well in a factory style. The engine is paired to a four speed manual transmission and power is fed to the rear wheels through the factory differential.
The car has been inspected by ICAARS who have confirmed it to be a genuine GT with correct tower stamping. The radiator support has been replaced at some stage with the correct JG number to match the tag stamped back into the new rad support. These XT GT Falcons don’t come up very often and this is a nice genuine example.
