1966 Chevrolet C20 Patina Pick up
This 1966 Chevrolet C20 is a cool patina survivor truck that has some great upgrades to make it more user friendly. If you know these old trucks, in their factory form they are very agricultural, often horrible to drive and underpowered. These trucks were work horses, they were never babied from new and often sat outside and in fields for many years meaning that a large majority of them are completely rusted out. This particular truck is one that you can tell came from a dry climate. The truck is clean underneath with no visible signs of rust or even rust repairs. The body has a great natural patina along with some dents and bumps around it that it acquired over 55 years of working. The logos on the doors add some character but are removable vinyl if you wanted to remove them or change them out with your own. Being a long bed truck there is more than enough room to fit a couple of full size motorcycles in the wooden floored bed. It should be noted the truck retains holes cut into either side of the bed sided where auxiliary fuel tanks were previously fitted during its working life.
The original clunky drive train is gone and the truck now runs a 350ci Chevy V8 engine paired to a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission. Both of these items provide a massive drivability upgrade over factory. There is also power steering and power brakes. The current owner was 90% complete fitting air conditioning to the truck which we are told only requires the compressor mounting bracket to be changed (supplied), belt fitted, and to be gassed. The fuel tank has been relocated from inside the cab to under the bed for safety with a fuel filler located in the tub. The exhaust has also been redone.
Inside the truck is still mostly original but with a few upgrades. The factory bench seat has been neatly re-trimmed in a teal and white to match the outside. There is a Hurst shifter on the floor for the 5 speed and a retro-sounds original look stereo system mounted in the dash. Neatly fitted under the dash if the aftermarket air conditioning unit.
