This 1965 Ford Mustang has been fully rebuilt into a tough Shelby GT350 tribute. With the price of Genuine Shelby’s continuing to skyrocket, these well executed tributes allow you to have something just as good looking and just as fun for a fraction of the price.

The body of the car has been professionally repainted in Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes. Visually, outside of the stripes, the Shelby GT350 treatment includes bonnet pins, a bonnet scoop, “open” grille treatment, GT350 style front valance, and ‘GT350’ identification in the lower body striping. A Shelby style side exit exhaust hangs out in front of the rear wheel and gives the car an incredible sound and presence. Although the car was purchased through another auction house by the current owner as a genuine K code, during our due diligence, we have since discovered that although it wears a K code VIN, it has been rebodied at some stage in its life. To complete the external look, the car sits on a set of 14” GT350R-style alloy wheels with white lettered tyres.

Inside the car has been finished using standard Mustang black vinyl trim. Up on the dash there is a Shelby style cluster with tachometer and oil pressure gauge. Front and centre is a Shelby-badged wood rim steering wheel with Hurst style manual shifter between the front seats and three pedals on the floor. A push-button radio remains, as do lap belts for the front bucket seats. Inside the boot is also neatly finished with the factory style tartan boot mat.

Under the bonnet is a cranky little 289ci V8. The engine is stamped with the correct K code VIN and appear to be correct.  The engine rumbles to life when you hit the key and the revs pop up snappily when you hit the throttle. The engine is paired to a four-speed Top Loader manual transmission and power is fed to the rear wheels through a nine inch diff. The brakes feature discs up front with drums in the rear.

This is a very well built Shelby GT350 replica with a lot of correct parts used in the build. With a high performance 289 under the bonnet, four speed manual transmission and side exit exhaust, it provides a true and raw driving experience that will be certain to bring a smile to your face every time you hit the key.
