1963 Holden EJ Premier Sedan

This 1963 Holden EJ Premier is a neat example of an Aussie Classic cruiser that has been restored and tastefully upgraded. The Holden Premier was a new luxury model that made its debut in the EJ series, and featured leather interior, bucket seats, metallic paint, a heater/demister with centre console, and arm rests on all four doors. They were all fitted with Hydra-matic 3-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment, which was optional on other EJ series models.
The body of the car has been stripped back to bare metal and fully repainted by Street Neat paint and panel in Upper Coomera in 2021. The colour of the car is Egyptian Bronze metallic with a white roof. All of the chrome work and trim on the outside of the car was either replaced or refinished at the same time. Completing the period look on the outside is a set of 13” polished Jelly Bean wheels with white lettered tyres.
Open the door and you will find the upmarket Premier interior that is mostly original. The seats contain original Tan leather through the middle which has a pretty cool aged look to it with the outsides having been recovered. The factory bucket seats and centre console are a cool Prem feature. Under the carpets, the floor has been coated in Car Builders sound deadner to reduce noise and heat in the cabin. A new Retrosounds Bluetooth stereo system supplied tunes while cruising.
Under the bonnet is a 202ci Holden 6 cyl engine with Holley carb. The engine is paired to the factory Trimatic auto transmission. Cooling is upgraded with a new larger alloy radiator and the brakes have been upgraded to be power assisted with HR discs up front.
These early Holdens have proven to be great investments over the last 10 or so years. This car being a top of the line Premier with some tasteful upgrades certainly makes for a great Aussie classic cruiser.
