1959 CUSTOM CHEVY IMPALA COUPE

HIGHLIGHTS: – Rare ’59 Impala coupe – Custom painted in Pearl Orange – Custom interior in cream – 350ci Chevy V8 crate engine – Turbo 350 Automatic transmission – Airbag suspension with Accuair E-level – Power brakes with disc brake front – Shaved door handles with remote poppers – Aftermarket Cruiser skirts – 13” 100 spoke wire wheels with white walls

This 1959 Chevy Impala Coupe has been extensively restored and tastefully modified into a cool mild custom lowrider. The body of the car has been fully repainted in a striking Pearl Orange colour which is actually the result of a Gold Pearl over a Yellow base. The car presents very well but has been driven so there are a few touched up marks here and there from normal use. The chrome bumpers and trim on the outside of the car has been refurbished or replaced with optional bumper guard fitted up front. To keep things smooth the external door handles, wipers and fender spears have been shaved and there are remote door poppers along with hidden poppers should you misplace the remote. In the back there is a set of long cruiser skirts (spats) which give the car a cool custom look. Finally a set of 13” 100 spoke wire wheels wrapped in white wall tyres give the car a cool Cali lowrider look.

The car sits slammed to the ground thanks to airbag suspension all round. The airbags themselves are provided using a kit from Air Ride with twin Viair Compressors, 8-gallon tank mounted in the boot. The brain behind the system is Accuair E-level air management which allows present ride heights, individual corner control and self-levelling technology.

Inside the car has been treated to a full retrim in white using an old school custom tuck and roll style. Inside everything is new except the seat frames. The factory style steering wheel and dash are all painted Pearl Orange to match the exterior. There is a big Lokar floor mounted shifter, Moon gauges and a Moon accelerator pedal on the floor to further the custom look. The boot is neatly carpeted with the air gear mounted up under the parcel shelf.

Under the bonnet is a well presented engine bay with painted inner guards and smoothed fire wall covered in the same orange pearl. In the middle sits a 350ci V8 crate engine with a mild cam and Holley 650 cfm carb. There are finned rocker covers, a polished intake, chrome air cleaner and Gilmer belt drive to keep things looking clean. The underside of the bonnet is smoothed and patterned with chrome hinges and latch. The engine is paired to a Turbo 350 three-speed automatic transmission that was rebuild approximately 18 months ago with a stage 2 shift kit installed. Keeping everything cool is a new alloy radiator with twin thermos fans. Exhaust gasses escape through block hugger headers into a custom exhaust that is cut off in front of the diff. Pulling things up is power assisted brakes with discs up front and a chrome booster and master cylinder.

1959 Impala Coupes are considered among the most desirable classic chevy’s on the planet and are very hard to come by these days. This is a great example to own a cool custom version with some great upgrades.
