This 1959 Chevrolet 3100 Apache short wheel base pick up has been tastefully resto-modded and extensively modified into a super tidy street truck that was built to be driven. The build was intended to combine the best of modern performance and reliability with classic pick up styling. Starting with body, the truck is clean and straight and has been professionally repainted in a classic two tone teal and white colour combo on the Gold Coast in late 2019. The body itself is relatively unmodified with the exception of shaving the fuel filler off the side of the cab which was no longer required. The chrome front and rear bumpers as well as the grill have been replaced. The truck sits lowered over a set of staggered 20” Detroit Steel, Artillery style wheels. In the bed has been completely refinished using a two-pack cleared bed wood kit with new polished chrome strips. All of the glass in the cab has been replaced with new items including new window felts, Bailey channels, rubbers etc.

Open the door to the cab and you will see a cool modern mild custom trim that was completed in 2020 by Timeless Automotive Trimming here on the Gold Coast. The interior features a TMI bolstered bench seat along with one off custom door cards, kick panels and headliner. The carpets are all new and flow down into the cab step for a neat look. The interior door handles and window cranks have been replaced with new items. The entire cab floor and firewall has been fully insulated to reduce noise and heat. The dash is neatly painted and features Dakota Digital VHX series gauges and push button start. In the center of the dash sits a 9” Alpine Halo 9 touch screen that feature Apple car play to allow for music streaming, Bluetooth phone integration, google maps and other applications. The cab is kept cool thanks to a “Vintage Air” air conditioning system. There is a new polished tilt steering column with Forever sharp steering wheel front and centre. A Lokar style auto shifter sits neatly out of the floor.

Gone is the old school V8 and under the bonnet now sits a modern L98 6.0L fuel injected LS V8 engine. The engine provides a great performance upgrade with modern reliability and was professionally fitted in 2020. The engine is paired to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission that was also fully rebuild in 2020. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a Camaro 10 bolt rear end. The front end has been converted to a Mustang II independent suspension with rack and pinion power steering and power disc brakes. The power booster for the brakes is new and mounted under the floor of the cab. The fuel tank has been relocated from inside the cab to an aluminium fuel cell under the tub with new electric fuel pump. Keeping things cool is a new PWR radiator with dual thermo fans. The exhaust headers have been ceramic coated and smoothed with a brand new custom stainless steel exhaust system.

These second series Chevy Pick ups are hot property at the moment and this is certainly a unique example. The truck has been previously fully registered and is mod plated for QLD.
