1955 Holden FJ ute

There isn’t a more iconic Aussie car than a 1955 Holden FJ Ute. The ute was a Queensland car originally, still wearing original Q plates on it before being purchased by a gent in country NSW where the car underwent a stock restoration, completed approximately 7 years ago. The current owner purchased the vehicle into a private collection a year after the restoration was complete where it has lived since. During its current ownership, the brakes have been fully reconditioned with a brake booster added for extra stopping power. The car was converted from 6 volt to 12 volt for convenience and reliability. The car retains its original vacuum wiper system. Under the bonnet is the original 6cyl grey engine paired to a 3 speed column shift manual transmission. It was livened up thanks to a finned rocker cover, dual carbs and extractors and all made to be a bit more fun and usable. The paintwork and chrome on the car are still in great condition only being used sparingly since completion. Inside the trim is neatly presented in the original style red vinyl with the bench seat allowing seating for three. In the back the timber has all been nicely restored and the inside of the tub nicely lined in protective coating. The ute features removable ladder racks and soft tonneau cover. A beautiful piece of Aussie history and a great Australian classic cruiser.
