This 1955 Chevrolet Belair Sports Coupe is believed to be a genuine low mileage example of an Iconic American Classic. This particular car was purchased by the current owner in Feb of 2019 from Joes Golden Gasoline in South Australia. With the exception of some external cosmetics, the car is largely unrestored and is believed to be original mileage which currently reads 48,344 miles from new.
The body of the car has been fully and professionally repainted in the original colours of white over Skyline Blue. The chrome on the outside of the car has been either refinished or replaced with an accessory front grill guard fitted. The car sits on a set of original style wheels with hubcaps and wide white wall tyres.
Inside the car appears to be all original with the period plastic seat covers still in place. There is enough room for the whole family with bench seats front and rear. The original steering wheel remains in place with column shifter automatic transmission. Inside the boot is neatly presented with original style rubber mat and spare wheel with white wall tyre.
Under the bonnet lives the original, 235ci Blue Flame 6 cylinder engine. The engine bay is displayed in its original presentation. The engine fires right up when you hit the key and runs smoothly. The engine is paired to the original two-speed Power Glide automatic transmission. The suspension and brakes are all factory style items.
