This 1954 Country Squire wagon is an exceptional example of a rare American classic cruiser. The Squire was purchased by the previous owner as a restoration project out of California in 2011. At the time the car was mostly complete, but all the windows were smashed, and it was run down with some animals calling it home. The car was rescued and imported to Australia to begin its two-year, ground-up restoration into the beauty you see here.

The car was stripped back to bare chassis and the body received the necessary repairs to make it like new again. The car was repainted in its factory Sea Mist Green and the fibreglass wood side panels were completely refinished and airbrushed to look factory fresh. The chrome has all been refurbished and shines brightly. The smashed glass was all replaced with the owner sourcing a factory rear window and making up new glass for the sides. The look is completed with a set of chrome Smoothie Wheels with wide white wall tyres.

Inside, the car has also received a full refresh to better-than-factory. The dash and window surrounds on the doors have all been airbrushed with woodgrain, like the panels down the side. The seats have all been retrimmed in a two-tone green and tan colour scheme. The carpets and headliner are all new and present extremely well. The third row seat is a fold down item however the original seat had barely any padding and it had been nicely padded during the retrim meaning it will no longer fold flat.

Under the bonnet is the original 239 ci Y block V8 engine. The engine was originally paired to a Ford-O-Matic transmission but this has since been upgraded to an FMX auto while still utilising the original style column selector. Being a top of the range wagon, it was factory equipped with power steering and the factory power brakes have been upgraded to include discs on the front and a dual master cylinder with power booster.

This is a rare American classic cruiser with all the hard restoration work completed and now ready to hop in and enjoy. The driving experience is great thanks to the V8 engine, auto trans, power steering and power brakes. You will struggle to find a more unique American classic than this beauty.
