This 1928 Ford Model A Tudor is an original all steel Model A that has been completely rebuilt from the ground up into a custom street rod. The car was an original black plate Californian car, and actually began its rebuild as a very nice complete car before being pulled down for the rebuild. The build took place in the US over in approximately 2006.

Starting with the body, the car was stripped down to a bare shell and placed on a rotisserie. From here any necessary repairs were made as well as the car being fitted with a recessed fire wall and pop-out, flush mounted fuel filler on the back. The car retains its full guards and was professionally repainted in metallic Burgundy. The chrome front and rear bumpers as well as the chrome grille were refinished or replaced. There is a pop out windscreen up front and a removable storage trunk on rear. The car sits down nice and low over a set of staggered Centerline wheels measuring 15” up front and 17” in the rear.

Inside the car has been through a full custom retrim in Beige vinyl, cloth and velour. The floors received sound deadener before being covered in plush carpets. There is seating for four people with bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear. In front of the driver there is a chrome tilt column holding a billet steering wheel and there are TPI-Tech aftermarket gauges mounted in a billet surround in the dash. All new smoked glass was used with all four side windows operated by power. Keeping things cool in the cabin is a ‘Vintage Air’ air conditioning system. Tunes provided by an aftermarket stereo system with speakers in the rear parcel shelf.

The chassis is all new and uses reproduction Model A frame rails fitted with a Mustang II style independent front end and adjustable coil overs. The rear suspension utilises a parallel four link with adjustable coil overs and pan hard bar.

Under the bonnet is a late model, LS1 fuel injected 5.7L V8 engine that has been upgraded with a Mafless tune. The engine is paired to an electronically controlled, 4L60E, four speed automatic transmission with Lokar shifter. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a nine inch diff. The cooling system upgraded with thermo fan and exhaust gasses escape through a custom dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. Braking is upgraded using four-wheel, power disc brakes with 7” booster and Corvette style dual master cylinder. The steering is a modern power rack and pinion set up.

This real steel Model A Tudor has been through a full ground up transformation into a one-off custom street rod that can fit the whole family. It’s modern driveline provides a massive upgrade in both performance and reliability. The sale includes a framed photo board that documents the rebuild and the car has previously been registered in QLD.
